A Vanguard sneak peek by Franck Muller

With just a few weeks to go before the opening of the WPHH (World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie), the Franck Muller brand continues to assert its supremacy in the realm of Grand Complications. It offers a sneak peek at two new creations providing a tantalising foretaste of the many horological wonders to be presented in January at the Watchland site in Genthod, on the shores of Lake Geneva.

In less than 30 years, Franck Muller has established itself as the “Master of Complications”, and especially as the “Master of the Tourbillon”. The first inverted tourbillon, the world’s smallest tourbillon, the first triple-axis tourbillon, the fastest tourbillon and the largest tourbillon ever made for a wristwatch: the list of Franck Muller world firsts goes on and on, each of them laying a new milestone in the field of Haute Horlogerie.

A preview of two creations

With its new V50 Vanguard Tourbillon Minute Repeater, Franck Muller combines the tourbillon with what is probably the most demanding horological complication of them all : a minute repeater. To make matters even more complex, the “Master of Complications” has designed this timepiece as an authentic mechanical sculpture, with an entirely skeletonised movement. Hollowed down to bare essentials, its 389 perfectly interlocking components create fascinating effects, accentuated by the absence of a dial.

Further enriching its Vanguard collection, Franck Muller has taken up another challenge by introducing the first ever feminine interpretation of its iconic Gravity model : the V35 Vanguard Lady Tourbillon Gravity. Supported by a construction composed of alternating concave and convex bridges forming an ellipse, its spectacular tourbillon brings a colourful high-tech touch to women’s wrists, in a fascinating blend of exceptional mechanics and avant-garde technology.

Rendezvous at the WPHH on the Watchland site

After last year’s edition held on the splendid Grand Malagny estate, also owned by the Franck Muller group, the WPHH returns in 2018 to its historical Genthod stronghold. And the event is set to be a particularly memorable occasion, since Franck Muller is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its famous Crazy Hours with a number of limited editions that will undoubtedly live up to their name. So make a note in your diaries to attend a festive and colourful WPHH, held from January 15th to 19th 2018 on the Watchland site.
